Pablo
All About Pablo: Pablo is a male KC registered Dogue de Bordeaux of nearly 6yrs.
Due to a bite incident (warning bite and relatively minor, photos available), Pablo is looking for a new home without young children, older mature children of teenage years that are understanding of boundaries will be fine. Prior to rehoming, Pablo had not prior bite history at the age of 6yrs.*
Pablo is great to walk on the lead and is dog friendly, so could live with another dog, his best friend is his next door neighbours' Jack Russell. Pablo loves his walks and swimming in the river. Pablo does not pull on lead unless he is desperate to find a good spot to go to the toilet.
Pablo can be protective of his food and be territorial over things like a bone or his bed but will willingly play with you with his toys but just does not like to give up his toys outside of play times.
Pablo is a very sweet boy who has bundles of energy and is looking for a new home that can match his needs. Pablo loves to play and is a big puppy at heart.
Pablo is looking for a new home where his family are understanding that he needs time to settle and adjust to his new surroundings and not to overwhelm him
*The Warning Bite has been determined as such by a qualified Dog behaviourist and trainer, who has classed the bite as a lower level 3 by Dr Ian Dunbar on the Dunbar Scale.
Full details of the occurrences that led Pablo to bite will be made available, but a brief snapshot as follows after being with a new family for just five hours:
* walked in adverse weather conditions (high winds and rain and at night);
* met another family members' dog;
* an additional four or five people including a grandchild staying at the home;
* despite being forewarned that Pablo did not like anything around his neck (apart from collar and lead) a bandana was placed around his neck that was fitted far too tightly;
* despite warning growls that Pablo did not want ear drops to be administered, the family persisted; and
* punched him on the nose.
