Fern
All About Fern: Fern is a female Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross of nearly 4yrs.
Fern has sadly been an unlucky girl in the past as, when she was just over 2yrs, she lost her daddy. Having been taken in by a family member she was made to live outdoors with no walks and inadequate shelter, whereas the other resident dog got to live indoors and so she was left for long periods by herself. Fern did find a new home and bonded well with her family and was clearly loving her new life. However due to a relationship breakdown yet another daddy is leaving Fern's life as he needs to move overseas with his work, so our search for Fern starts again.
Fern is a lovely girl, who is very gentle and loving and adores all humans and loves nothing more than a cuddle, kisses and bum scratches.
Fern can be overly excitable and strong on a lead but with stimulation and lots of walks she soon calms down and she is very trainable given the opportunity to learn.
Fern has good recall and knows basic commands.
Fern is friendly with other dogs and could go on to live with another dog. Fern is very keen to meet other dogs on her walks but can be a little boisterous and excitable so further socialisation needed.
Due to a bite incident, Fern is looking for a new home where there are no young children. The circumstances surrounding the bite incident were when she was suffering a phantom pregnancy and a stranger to her visited her home, dogs are of course overly protective and guarded in a phantom state and of course this should have been a consideration by her family. Fern is now spayed.
Fern would benefit from a peaceful home, where there will be routine and consistency. Fern would love a home where she will be prioritised and her needs will be met in terms of daily walks, socialising and enrichment.
Fern is an absolute diamond and a real softie, who just wants the home comforts, exercise and love and attention in abundance.
