Trevor

All About Trevor: Trevor  is a male  American Bulldog of nearly 2.5years.

Trevor needs a unicorn home - someone who will respect him for the dog he is, just loving him will not do him any favours and he is certainly no couch potato so, he is looking for a family is active, a hiking enthusiast would be ideal!

Trevor is crate trained and should continue to be crated in his new home but this should not be forced on him.  Trevor has previously bitten a person, in a situation where he was forcibly crated.  Trevor's present foster carer and OtWH believe it was justified and that many dogs would have reacted the same. However, Trevor has learnt to test and bully people and, as he is a big and powerful dog, he must be respected as such.

Trevor walks beautifully on the lead but as he is actually very friendly, he can get over aroused in the presence of other dogs and people, but this has greatly improved but will need ongoing consistency with his training.

Trevor has lived with toddlers previously but is now looking for a new home where there are no children due to the bite incident.

Trevor has lived with other dogs and has been fine with them and could go on to live with other dogs in his new home that have similar activity levels. However, Trevor does not have enough outside world experience to recognise other dogs' aggression; he just wants to say hi and play.  Trevor can get overly excited when he sees other dogs and will pull on his lead to go and play with them, but he is generally submissive when other dogs bark at him.

Trevor can be a bit jumpy when he is not getting attention or if overexcited but he is getting better all the time but this will need continued work in his new home.  Trevor loves to play with his ball and rope; he also likes his snuggle mat, but he is a typical bully and has a very low attention span and gets bored easily.

Trevor goes to a secure dog park, where he enjoys his time off lead but always likes to keep his humans in sight.

Trevor would make a fantastic addition to the right family looking for a loyal dog, who are active and able to keep up with Trevor!

Details surrounding Trevor's bite history: Sadly, Trevor was confined to the kitchen in his first home and so his puppyhood was one where he was not socialised, instead he was confined to a room and a crate.  Trevor's foster family used a crate to separate their dogs in the home when they went out and some force was used which resulted in Trevor biting.

.

Trevor is in the ORPINGTON, Bromley area.
