Nellie
All About Nellie: Nellie is a female Dogue de Bordeaux of 2.5yrs.
Nellie is great with other dogs and so can go on to live with other dogs in her new home, however she likes time and space to get to know other dogs to be comfortable around them. Nellie meets other dogs with no issues on her walks.
Nellie has lived with young children in her previous home and adores them but her previous family unsuccessfully rehomed her directly and, following a week of being with her new family, a bite incident occurred. Nellie can therefore no longer be rehomed with children.
Nellie is a big soft, bouncy girl, who loves attention and cuddles, and is super friendly.
Nellie also lives with cats and is good with them but will chase cats she does not know, so will need careful introductions in her new home.
Nellie has good recall when off lead, she does pull a lot but this should improve once she gets out and about a little more, as when walked regularly she will walk to heal.
Nellie loves nothing more than a good game of tug of war and fetch.
Nellie can bark at strangers coming to her home but as soon as she knows there is no threat, then she is back to being a big baby wanting cuddles and a fuss.
OtWH NOTES:
Bite incident: When telling the other resident dog "bed", Nellie was in her own bed and lunged and bit the large toe of the new owner. Nellie was rehomed when she was in season and therefore hormonal, and rehomed with another large breed dog, a Great Dane.
Nellie has been with her foster carer for a week now and is doing really well, although another young female dog in the home is also not neutered (also having a phantom pregnancy), so may be adding to the strains between the two and perhaps they were introduced a little too soon and Nellie was introduced on a lead, but her foster carer has said that she is a lovely, affectionate dog and really sweet with everyone that she has met.
Nellie has now completed her cycle but cannot be neutered until 3/4 months time, depending on Vet advice, as this can vary.
Nellie is in the BRAMELY, Leeds, West Yorkshire area
