Charlie
All About Charlie: Charlie is a male Parsons Jack Russell Terrier of of 5yrs.
Charlie has some food resource guarding issues and has bitten or attempted to bite his owner on several occasions. However, Charlie has been staying with a friend who is more experienced and has given Charlie clear boundaries and, since staying with the friend, he has been really well behaved and settled and there have been no further instances of resource guarding. As a result of Charlie's bite history, he is looking for a new home without young children.
Charlie is an independent Parson who loves his food and his favourite thing to do is splooting. Charlie loves the sun and will find any slither of sunlight to sunbathe and chill out in. Charlie loves to explore in the woods and will do anything for a treat.
With clear boundaries and time invested, Charlie would make a great companion.
Charlie does have separation anxiety initially, but will sometimes settle after a little while but if there are noises outside this will unsettle him. Ideally, Charlie needs a home where he is not left for long periods.
Charlie is not suitable for living with cats.
On Car journeys, Charlie barks at everything; sitting in traffic, car parks, people walking passed, dogs walking passed, sheep, people getting in cars.
Charlie has lived on his own and with five other dogs, all larger than himself, and he is generally friendly with other dogs but, if he isn't getting his way, or another dog has the better of him in play, he will turn and have a go at them. If there is a scrap, Charlie has a typical terrier mentality and won’t back down. Having said this, his family believe he could live with another dog with an experienced family
Charlie will need a secure garden.
